STREET OUTREACH
Net of Compassion has become a major point of intervention for individuals struggling in active addiction and poverty in the Worcester, Massachusetts community. The volunteers of Net of Compassion are out on the streets every day providing prayer, encouragement, relapse prevention counseling,  Narcan intervention, and  food and clothing for people they meet on the streets.  Net of Compassion develops strong trusting relationships with folks that a not currently accessing traditional brick and mortar services.  Through our mobile outreach and years of history in the neighborhood, we have developed trust to those who need to have discussions about detox options and other services   Net of Compassion works with these men and women to bring them prayer, hope, encouragement and to reconnect them with a healthy lifestyle. We are bridging the barriers to recovery through intentional focus on the street community.

PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT
Every day the volunteers of Net of Compassion are working with men and women that are seeking to get off the streets and begin to address their substance use difficulties. Many of the Net of Compassion volunteers are persons in long term recovery.  Peer volunteers that have been sober for years connect with Net of Compassion clients all day on Saturdays and throughout the week. Supports often include transportation to recovery meetings, one on one counseling, faith based counseling, and even prayer. As a faith based organization, they care about the persons spiritual needs as well as their physical and emotional ones.

DETOX AND SHELTER BED ACQUISITION
Every day in the city of Worcester, Director Richie Gonzalez and his team work with people that ready to get off the streets and into a recovery program. Volunteers will spend hours on the phone finding an available bed in a  detox, a half way house or independent living opportunity.  Net of Compassion does everything they can, at any time of the day or night, to help get people off the street in a effort to support their sobriety goals and, in reality, to keep them alive.

SEX TRAFFICKING
OUTREACH
Supporting women involved in sex traffic business is a very common occurrence with the work that we do every day. Many of these women are often missed in the human services field as a group of people that need serious supports. Again, through the food and clothing program and spending time directly on the streets of Worcester, Net of Compassion volunteers get to know the women involved in this industry, and find out what kind of help they need. Many women are struggling with addiction, past abuse and homelessness. Net of Compassion Peer workers work closely with these women to encourage them to leave the profession, get counseling and further help.

Because Net of Compassion volunteers have faith in God, they are able to believe that anything is possible for these individuals in major crisis in their lives.

"I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." Matthew 25:36
